She Wolf

I’ve been devoting myself to you Monday to Monday and Friday to Friday
Not getting enough retribution or decent incentives to keep me at it
I’m starting to feel just a little abused like a coffee machine in an office
So i’m gonna go somewhere cozy to get me a lover and tell you about it.

– Taken from She Wolf by Shakira (English Version)

Today I was doing an image search for the word “bittersweet’ and I stumbled upon  www.storypeople.com

I loved it.  I was especially moved by a card that read:

“She said she usually cried at least one a day not because she was sad, but because the world was so beautiful & life was so short”.

I can understand that.

I think I may look a little deeper as the site seems to have some really nice things.

Now back to my image search.

He Loves Me

Jill Scott released a song  called “He Loves Me” in 2002.  Since then a number of remixes have been released- each one better than the other.  The song makes me feel so happy in whatever form I hear it.  I’ll leave it to you to find the version that touches you.

Here are the lyrics:

You love me especially different every time
You keep me on my feet happily excited
By your cologne, your hands, your smile, your intelligence
You woo me, you court me, you tease me, you please me
You school me, give me some things to think about
Ignite me, you invite me, you co-write me, you love me, you like me
You incite me to chorus, ooh
Ooh…

You’re different and special
You’re different and special in every way imaginable
You love me from my hair follicles to my toenails
You got me feeling like the breeze, easy and free and lovely and new
Oh when you touch me I just can’t control it
When you touch me, I just can’t hold it
The emotion inside of me, I can feel it

If you like this song  – look up a few of my other favourites by Jill Scott:

  • Not Like Crazy
  • Whatever
  • Golden

Thanks to Smashi for the inspiration today.

… a song that CFNY played from 1995 that came into my mind today.

Could it be you’re the one?
Maybe I’m now the lucky guy
Or should I turn and run?
It’s so easy to see that I
Could wash your feet
And fill your womb
And I would be your man
Well it hurts to know but I don’t think I can

Is it gonna hurt if we try?
Is this the calm before the flood
Well we may skip like stones
Or you could pull me from the mud
And I would wash your feet
And fill your womb
And I would be your man
Well it hurts to know but I don’t think I can

I will miss the songs and stories
And the things you brought in
Could it be it’s been so long
I can’t love you, I’ve forgotten how

I’m shy, once bitten
Though I’m desperate I keep my place
If nothing is written
Must you leave me without a trace?
When I would wash your feet
And fill your womb
And I would be your man
Well it hurts to know but I don’t think I can

Strength

Develop the strength to do bold things, not the strength to suffer.

I’m gonna paper all my walls with your love letters
And invite you over some night
I’m gonna read you every line where you promised to be mine
And show you all the vows you made in black and white
But if you think you’re fooling me with your love love letters
Well baby, now it’s time you knew the score
I’m gonna find somebody new to write me love letters
And paper them all over yours
